BS2life – by Bad Sodener Zeitung

Our Story

Two perspectives. One vision. Out of love for Bad Soden.

The creative heart

Publishing & editorial

A Bad Soden girl, originally from PR, with over 25 years in publishing – and unshakeable journalistic integrity. She stands for local trust, editorial stance and the history of our brand. The idea for BS2life is hers.

The digital mind

Digital & tech

Tech expert for digital growth and e-commerce. Many people in Bad Soden have known her for years: countless online presences of companies, clubs and (non-profit) institutions carry her digital signature. She turned the idea into a platform.

From an idea to a platform

Dear friends of good living,

the idea for BS2life was not born at a desk, but on a walk through our town.

I am a Bad Soden girl. I know the streets here, the shops and many (very many!) of the people behind them. I have been making the Bad Sodener Zeitung since the end of 1999, and in all those years I have experienced one thing again and again: Bad Soden has more to offer than you see at first glance. Charming cafés, passionate hosts, dedicated shopkeepers, genuine insider tips. What was missing was a place where all of it comes together.

I carried that thought around with me for a long time. A digital platform connecting independent journalism with food, dining and lifestyle. Not a business directory, not a portal run from outside, but a home for everything that makes life in our town special.

For stories and for editorial stance I need nobody — that simply flows from my pen. But a platform is more than good writing. It needs technology, digital thinking and someone who understands how people search, find and decide today. It was quickly clear to me: I would not do this alone. And I wanted the best partner I could get.

I found her in Bad Soden. Carolina Maggiore is a tech expert in digital growth and e-commerce, and many here have known her for a long time from local clubs and associations — numerous online presences of our town carry her signature.

And she said yes.

My idea became ours. Since that day BS2life has been our joint project, with two different strengths that complement each other perfectly.

What we intend is quickly said. We want to make the variety of our town visible. To create one central place that brings together independent journalism, event inspiration and local businesses in food, dining and lifestyle — chosen with care, presented in a modern way, open to everyone.

And we deliberately want to keep it small: BS2life is exclusively for businesses from Bad Soden, Neuenhain and Altenhain. No partners from elsewhere, no providers with no connection to our town. Whoever appears here belongs here.

We believe in quality over arbitrariness. In content with substance. In local roots with a view ahead.

Decoding the brand

What does BS2life actually mean?

BS

stands for Bad Soden – our town.

2

stands for the two of us. Two founders, two perspectives, one project between equals.

life

stands for the larger aim: making life, food and lifestyle in Bad Soden digitally tangible in all its facets.

The roots

A child of the Bad Sodener Zeitung.

BS2life did not come out of nowhere. The Bad Sodener Zeitung has been part of town life since 1900. At the end of 1999, my father, Heiko Hegner, and I took it over and together grew it into a local institution – with local connection, journalistic quality and closeness to the people here.

From that heritage BS2life takes what makes a local paper: reliability, stance and a feel for what moves Bad Soden. Everything else is new.

BS2life is not a replacement for the Bad Sodener Zeitung but its evolution into the digital world of food, dining and lifestyle – and at the same time an independent company: published by Fusion2Media UG, founded by Inken Hegner and Carolina Maggiore.

Our Vision – Our Vibe

The best places are right on your doorstep.

We believe the best places are right on your doorstep – they just need to be made visible.

The idea for BS2life grew from a simple wish: to make the incredible diversity of our town visible. Bad Soden has so much to offer – charming cafés, dedicated retailers, hidden gems.

We wanted to create a central place that brings it all together – a modern food, dining & lifestyle portal that carefully selects independent journalism, event inspiration and local business partners, presents them in a modern way and makes them accessible to everyone.

We believe in quality over arbitrariness, in content with substance, in local connection with an eye to the future.

BS2life by Bad Sodener Zeitung is a deliberate step to extend the Bad Sodener Zeitung with a modern, digital platform.

BS2life stands for evolution, not replacement.
